About the Editor
Zoe Davis is a long-form editor, writer and edit consultant whose work spans a wide range of genres, including observational, wildlife, arts, science and technology, crime & justice, factual, sports and archive. She's drawn to projects that challenge audiences to see the world in new and unexpected ways. Every film Zoe edits is a commitment - she brings experience, expertise, and deep motivation to each project.
Zoe began her career in commercials and music before moving into documentaries and docudrama. Collaborations with industry legends such as Darren Aronofsky and Walter Murch have sparked a growing interest in scripted work. As a violinist, Zoe has a deep passion for music and loves using sound and score to create evocative, emotional experiences for viewers.
Career highlights include editing Limitless with Chris Hemsworth (Disney+), a six-part series by Darren Aronofsky, which won the ASE Ellie Award for Best Editing in 2023 and the Realscreen Award for Best Non-Fiction Science & Technology Series in 2024. Zoe also worked alongside legendary editor Walter Murch on the multi-award-winning feature docudrama COUP 53, as well as Extraordinary Rituals and The Parkinson’s Drug Trial for BBC Two - both winners of prestigious awards, including the Grierson Award and RTS Award for Best Science Documentary. In 2020, she edited Alien Worlds, a Netflix Original series that won an Emmy Award in 2021 and ranked in the platform’s top ten most-streamed shows in its debut week.
Beyond the edit suite, Zoe is committed to supporting a thriving industry, both in the UK and in Australia. She has tutored MA Editing students at the National Film and Television School (UK), appeared as a panelist at IBC, EditFest, and Sheffield Doc/Fest, and has mentored students through Bath Spa University and the Royal Television Society mentoring schemes. In 2023, Zoe joined the Australian Screen Editors committee and was invited to judge the ASE Ellie Awards in 2023/2024. In Sydney, she has worked on projects for leading Australian production companies, including Mint Pictures, Northern Pictures, Lune Media, Ronde Media, SBS and ABC. She is set to embark on a feature documentary later this year.
